Diwakar Tewari

Diwakar Tewari serves as a vice president of transmission planning at LS Power, where he is responsible for ensuring the reliability, compliance, and strategic planning of LS Power’s transmission subsidiary, LS Power Grid’s assets across multiple regions.

Diwakar has over two decades of leadership and technical experience in electrical engineering, with expertise in transmission modeling, generator interconnection, renewable integration, and regulatory compliance.

Since joining LS Power in 2021, Diwakar has led planning activities for the company’s operating transmission assets in the California ISO, ERCOT, Midcontinent ISO, New York ISO, and PJM regions. He also supports planning aspects of transmission development such as identifying transmission solutions to address needs, completing interconnection, and required system studies. Prior to LS Power, Diwakar held key leadership roles at Leidos, the California ISO, and the Midcontinent ISO.

Diwakar holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and a Master of Science in electrical engineering from Arizona State University. He is a registered professional engineer and a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
