Cross Texas Transmission is an electric transmission utility in Texas with facilities in the Panhandle and Brazos Valley regions. Our facilities enable access to diverse generation sources, increase the reliability and stability of the grid, and relieve congestion. We have regional offices in Austin and Amarillo, Texas.
History
2009
In 2009, Cross Texas Transmission was selected by the Public Utility Commission of Texas to build a portion of the Competitive Renewable Energy Zone (CREZ), a program sponsored by the Texas Legislature to promote renewable and transmission development for the state’s power grid.
2013
In 2013, Cross Texas Transmission’s Panhandle assets were placed in service.
2018
In 2018, Cross Texas Transmission’s Brazos Valley assets were placed in service as the northern portion of a grid expansion project to improve power imports into Houston.
