Silver Run Electric
Silver Run Electric is an electric transmission utility in Delaware designed to support the stability, reliability, and efficiency of the PJM power grid in the Mid-Atlantic.
Silver Run Electric’s facilities consist of the Silver Run Substation and a transmission line that runs from the Silver Run Substation to the Hope Creek Substation in Lower Alloways Creek, New Jersey. The transmission line includes an approximately 3-mile submarine crossing of the Delaware River. Designed to coexist within a unique marine environment, Silver Run Electric provides a high-voltage connection between the Delmarva Peninsula and southern New Jersey. To support Silver Run Electric, we maintain an office in Middletown, Delaware.
History
2015
In 2015, Silver Run Electric was selected through a competitive solicitation to provide a new link between Delaware and southern New Jersey, supporting the secure, reliable operation of the PJM Interconnection’s grid across the Mid-Atlantic.
2020
In 2020, Silver Run Electric was placed in service, having been completed on schedule and within the guaranteed cost cap.
2022
In 2022, Silver Run Electric was awarded an expansion project in PJM, adjacent to its current facilities.
